My other daughter who HATES touching dirty dishes, and therefore always tries to make sure the dishwasher is “accepting dishes” made a sign for the door that’s held up by a magnetic clip, in hopes of reminding us to put our dishes in the washer and not the sink. Over time, our family has started describing this as “the dishwasher is (or isn’t) accepting dishes.” What’s the problem?īecause one child (who shall remain nameless) is less motivated by the piles of dirty dishes in the sink, we’ve sunk into a kind of family rhythm where we know whether we have to put our dishes in the sink or washer, based on whose week it is. Then the designated dish-doer for the week needs to empty the dishwasher as well as fill it with all the dishes that have accumulated while it was waiting to be emptied.

If the dishwasher is full or clean, the rest of the family doesn’t have to put their dishes in, but can set them in the sink or on the counter. The way we do it in our house is, when the dishwasher is empty or has a few dirty dishes in it waiting to be washed, the rest of the family is responsible for putting their plate, cup and silverware in after eating. (This cuts down on arguing over whose day it is.)

Select it while your mat and media is loaded and your machine will cut out a tiny box and triangle in the upper right-hand corner.
There, you’ll see a teeny tiny triangle in the upper right-hand corner of the gray box. And the only way to use it is to not select “send to Silhouette” at the bottom of the CUT SETTINGS window (see above screenshot), but instead proceed to SEND TO SILHOUETTE window. Now, it took me a while to find the “test cut” option in the new V3 software. I always run test-cuts now, so I did that first, double-checking that the recommended settings of a blade depth of 4 were correct (which they were). I found that even with a pretty sticky mat, the magnet paper needed some painter’s tape to ensure it stayed stuck! TIP: If you find your material is not properly adhering to your mat or is coming loose during cutting, don’t be afraid to use painter’s tape to tape down the edges onto your mat prior to cutting.
